Part of Transport & Logistics
Curtain-sided transport, loaded from the side.
Al Tawfiq Group moves palletized and packaged cargo in curtain-sided (tautliner) trailers across Saudi Arabia, NEOM, the Red Sea and Tabuk. The curtain opens the full length of the trailer, so forklifts load and unload from either side in minutes — while the cargo rides enclosed, strapped internally and protected from sun, dust and weather. Cross-border to Egypt under one contract.

SIDE ACCESS · RESTRAINT · WEATHER
The curtain is cover. The straps do the work.
A curtain-sider earns its keep at the loading bay. The curtain slides back along the full length of the trailer, so forklifts work from either side at once — no waiting for rear-door access, no craning over headboards. That’s what makes it the fastest body for palletized freight, and why it suits multi-drop runs: at each site, open the section you need, lift out that consignment, close and go.
One thing experienced shippers check: the curtain is weather protection, not load restraint. Curtains keep out sun, dust and rain, but the cargo itself is held by internal straps and load bars, positioned to the consignment before the curtains are tensioned shut. We plan that restraint per load — so freight arrives upright, dry and undamaged.
Because the body is enclosed, curtain-siders carry the freight that shouldn’t ride open — retail goods, packaged materials, bagged cement — without the cost of temperature control. If your cargo needs a setpoint instead of just cover, that’s a reefer; if it needs a crane from above, that’s a flatbed. The same division runs all three, so you get the right body, not the available one.
Full-length side access
Curtain slides back on both sides for forklift loading.
Internal straps & bars
Restraint planned to the consignment — curtains are cover only.
Weather protection
Enclosed from sun, dust and rain — no sheeting needed.
Fast turnarounds
Load and unload in minutes at docks and open yards alike.
Multi-drop sequencing
Consignments loaded in drop order, opened per site.
Right-body advice
Reefer or flatbed suggested when they suit the cargo better.

DECISION GUIDE
Curtain-sided, flatbed or reefer?
If it’s palletized, dry and needs to move fast, it’s a curtain-sider. Here’s the quick comparison.
| Consideration | Curtain-sided (TL·04) | Flatbed (TL·02) | Reefer (TL·03) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Loading | Full-length side, both sides | Top, side or crane | Rear doors, dock |
| Protection | Enclosed — sun, dust, rain | Open deck, sheeted | Insulated, at setpoint |
| Best cargo | Pallets, packaged, bagged | Steel, containers, project cargo | Perishables, frozen |
| Speed at bay | Fastest for pallets | Depends on crane / access | Dock-paced, door discipline |

WHY IT MATTERS
Every hour a trailer waits at a bay is money. Side access turns loading from a queue into a pit stop.
NEOM-approved · corridor-based · enclosed cargo, open-deck speed.

QUERIES
Curtain-sided questions, answered.
A trailer with rigid roof and floor and sliding curtains along both sides. The curtains pull back the full length of the body, so cargo loads and unloads by forklift from either side — combining the access of an open deck with the protection of an enclosed body.
No — and that's a distinction experienced shippers check. Curtains are weather protection; the load itself is restrained by internal straps and load bars, planned to the consignment before the curtains are tensioned shut.
Palletized and packaged freight that must arrive clean and dry at ambient temperature — retail and FMCG goods, bagged cement and materials, building supplies and crated equipment. If it forklifts on a pallet, it probably belongs here.
Yes — multi-drop is where side access pays most. Consignments are loaded in drop order, and at each site only the relevant curtain section is opened, that cargo lifted out, and the run continues. Several sites can be served on one trailer, one contract.
Speed and protection. Pallets forklift straight in from both sides without sheeting or unsheeting, and they ride enclosed from sun, dust and rain. A flatbed (TL·02) wins when cargo needs a crane from above or exceeds the enclosed body — steel, containers, project cargo.
It shades and encloses, but it does not control temperature — the body rides at ambient. Cargo with a setpoint to hold — perishables, frozen goods, sensitive products — needs a reefer (TL·03). Tell us the cargo and we'll advise which body it needs.
Yes. Recurring pallet runs — supplier to site, warehouse to camp, distribution across the corridor — can be set up as contract routes with agreed days and windows, alongside one-off moves. Cross-border runs to Egypt are available under the same contract.
The cargo, pallet count or quantity, approximate weight, the pickup and destination or drops, the date, and whether it's a single drop, multi-drop or recurring run. The transport team replies with a trailer match and a price.
